The Butterfly House is designed with no corners by architect Ed Lippmann to make sure it had perfect chi, according to Feng Shui priniciples which frown on energy-draining corners. Lippmann apparently had to submit his Butterfly House plans to his Chinese-Malaysian clients' Feng Shui master before they could be approved.

The house has three levels in the shape of a figure-eight. It has curved walls of glass, which were carefully shaded to make sure the Butterfly House didn't become a glasshouse.
Lippmann also designed a clever passive-cooling system which relies on the louvred glass staircase drawing cool air and moisture from a ground floor planter box up through the house, ensuring maximum internal breezes.
The five-bedroom, three-bathroom house in Dover Heights in Sydney's East has a gas-heated swimming pool and a rooftop terrace. It's all rather sinuous and space-age, but decidedly stylish.
